How to use the activity log on Schokr
See who started, stopped, edited files or changed settings on your Schokr server with the activity log, and use it to investigate problems.
Updated · 2 min read
The activity log records actions taken on your server, such as power actions, file changes, startup changes and snapshot or backup activity, along with who did them and when. It is the first place to look when something changed and you do not know why.
Open the activity log
- Open your server in the console.
- Go to the Activity section.
- Browse the list of recent events. Each entry shows the action, the user and the time.
What gets recorded
Typical entries include:
- Power actions: start, stop, restart, kill
- Console commands sent from the panel
- File uploads, edits, renames, deletes, archive and unarchive
- Changes to Startup variables
- Snapshots and backups being created, restored or deleted
- Schedule changes
- Network allocation changes
- Settings changes
Things that happen inside the game or bot, like a player running a command in game, are not part of the activity log. Check your server's own log files in the file manager for those.
Using it to troubleshoot
"My server restarted by itself"
Look for a restart or stop entry at that time.
- A user did it: you will see their name.
- A schedule did it: check the Schedules section for a restart task at that time.
- No entry: the server likely crashed or ran out of memory. Check the console and see out of memory errors.
"A file changed or disappeared"
Find the file edit or delete entry to see who and when. Restore it from a snapshot if needed.
"Settings are different than before"
Check for startup or settings changes. A changed version variable often explains a server that suddenly will not start.
Security checks
The activity log helps you spot misuse:
- Actions from a member at strange times
- File downloads or edits of config files holding tokens or passwords
- Actions by someone you thought you had removed
If you see something suspicious, remove or restrict the member, change your password, rotate any exposed secrets and restore a snapshot if files were damaged. See account security basics.
Permissions
Viewing the activity log is its own team permission. Give it to admins who need to investigate issues. See team roles and permissions.
