Billing and store permissions in team roles
Control who can spend your Schokr team's credits. Use the billing and store permissions on custom team roles to limit purchases and transfers.
Updated · 2 min read
Schokr teams use custom roles with granular permissions, and two of them matter for money: billing and store. Give them only to people you trust to spend the team's credits.
The relevant permissions
Team roles can include permissions for many areas, such as console, power, files, backups, snapshots, schedules, startup, network, resources, settings and activity. For spending, the important ones are:
| Permission | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Billing | Managing the team's credits, such as buying credits and transferring them between teams |
| Store | Buying upgrades from the store with the team's credits |
Exact behavior can depend on how the role is set up, so check the role editor in the console when you assign them.
The team owner has full access.
Why this matters
Credits belong to the team, and store purchases are permanent. A member with store access could spend the balance on upgrades you did not plan for, and a member with billing access could move credits to another team. Keep these permissions limited.
Also keep in mind that some server actions spend credits indirectly, such as adding port allocations in the Network section, adding snapshot slots, or turning on automatic daily snapshots at 5 credits per day. Think about network and snapshots permissions too if you want tight control over spending.
Setting up roles
- Sign in to the Schokr console as the team owner.
- Open your team settings and go to roles.
- Create or edit a role.
- Turn billing and store on or off depending on what that role should do.
- Assign the role to members.
Example role setups
| Role | Billing | Store | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Owner | Yes | Yes | Full control |
| Co-admin | Yes | Yes | Trusted partner who manages money |
| Server admin | No | No | Manages servers but cannot spend |
| Moderator | No | No | Console and files only |
Inviting and removing members
Owners invite existing Schokr users to the team by email. Removing someone from the team removes their access to the balance. Team ownership can also be transferred if someone else should take over.
Still stuck?
If a member can spend credits when they should not, or cannot buy something they should be able to, review their role, then ask on the Schokr Discord.
