Which ports each game server template uses
A reference of the game, query, RCON and file transfer ports used by Rust, Source games, ARK, TeamSpeak 3 and Mumble servers on Schokr.

Every Schokr server starts with one port allocation, which becomes its main game or voice port. Some games need extra ports for things like RCON, query or file transfers. This page lists what each template uses so you know whether you need more allocations.
How ports work on Schokr
- Your server gets one IP and port when it is created. You can see it in the Network section and at the top of the console.
- You don't choose the port number yourself. Players connect with whatever IP and port your server was given, for example
<server-ip>:<port>. - Extra ports come from extra allocations. Each one costs 25 credits, or they are unlimited with Schokr One. See adding port allocations.
- The default port numbers below (like 27015) are what the game uses on a home PC. On Schokr, the numbers will usually be different, and that is fine.
Port reference
| Template | Main port (your first allocation) | Extra ports you may want |
|---|---|---|
| Rust | Game port (UDP) | RCON (TCP), Rust+ companion app port (TCP) |
| Garry's Mod | Game port (UDP), RCON on the same port (TCP) | SourceTV port, rarely used |
| CS:GO | Game port (UDP), RCON on the same port (TCP) | SourceTV port for GOTV |
| Team Fortress 2 | Game port (UDP), RCON on the same port (TCP) | SourceTV port |
| Custom Source Engine | Game port (UDP), RCON on the same port (TCP) | SourceTV port |
| ARK: Survival Evolved | Game port (UDP) | Query port (UDP), RCON port (TCP) |
| TeamSpeak 3 | Voice port (UDP) | File transfer port (TCP), ServerQuery port (TCP) |
| Mumble | Voice port (TCP and UDP) | None |
Source engine games need only one port
Garry's Mod, CS:GO, TF2 and other Source games serve players, the server browser query and RCON all on one port number. Game traffic and queries use UDP, and RCON uses TCP on that same number. That means a single allocation is enough for a normal Source server. You only need a second allocation if you want SourceTV or GOTV for spectators and demos.
Rust needs a second port for RCON
Rust's RCON runs on its own TCP port, separate from the game port. If you want to manage the server with an RCON tool or use admin apps, add an allocation and put that port number in the RCON port variable in your server's Startup settings. The Rust+ companion app also uses its own port.
ARK uses several ports
ARK uses a game port, a separate query port for the Steam server browser, and an RCON port. Without a working query port, the server may not appear in the in-game list, although direct connections can still work. See creating an ARK server.
TeamSpeak 3 file transfers
TeamSpeak's voice port is your main allocation. File uploads, downloads and avatars use a separate TCP port, so add an allocation for it if you want those features. See fixing TeamSpeak file transfers.
