Can I host a Minecraft Bedrock server on Schokr?
Schokr has no Bedrock Dedicated Server template, but Bedrock players can join a Java Paper server through GeyserMC and Floodgate crossplay.

Not as a standalone Bedrock Dedicated Server: Schokr has no Bedrock template. What you can do, and what most crossplay servers do, is run a Minecraft Java server on the Paper template and install GeyserMC so Bedrock players on Windows, mobile, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch can join it alongside Java players.
How crossplay works
Bedrock and Java Edition speak different network protocols, so they cannot connect to each other's servers out of the box. GeyserMC is a translator that runs as a plugin on your Java server:
- Java players connect to your server as normal over TCP (default port 25565).
- Bedrock players connect to Geyser over UDP (Bedrock's default port is 19132).
- Geyser translates everything between the two in real time, so everyone plays in the same world.
Floodgate is a companion plugin that lets Bedrock players join without owning a Java Edition account. Most servers install both.
What you need
| Piece | What it does |
|---|---|
| Paper server (Minecraft Java template) | The actual game server and world |
| Geyser (Spigot/Paper build) | Accepts Bedrock connections and translates them |
| Floodgate (Spigot/Paper build) | Lets Bedrock players in with just their Microsoft/Xbox account |
| A port Bedrock players can reach over UDP | Your server's port or an extra port allocation |
Everything fits in Schokr's free package: 6 GB memory, 1.5 CPU cores and 10 GB disk per team, which you can split across up to 4 servers.
Quick start
- Create a Minecraft Java server from the Paper template in the Schokr console and accept the EULA on first start.
- Download the Spigot/Paper builds of Geyser and Floodgate from geysermc.org/download.
- Upload both jars to the
pluginsfolder with the file manager and restart. - Set the Bedrock port in
plugins/Geyser-Spigot/config.yml. - Connect from Bedrock using your server address and that port.

Limitations to know up front
- Bedrock-only content such as Marketplace add-ons and behavior packs will not work, because the server underneath is Java.
- Some Java mechanics look or behave a little differently for Bedrock players. See Java features that behave differently for Bedrock players.
- Modded servers (Forge) are not a good fit for Geyser. See can Bedrock players join a modded server.
- Console players need a workaround to add custom servers. See connecting from Xbox, PlayStation and Switch.
Still stuck?
Ask in the Schokr Discord and include your Geyser version and what error the Bedrock client shows.
