How to install ULX and ULib admin on a Garry's Mod server
Add the ULX admin mod and ULib to your Garry's Mod server on Schokr, make yourself superadmin, and use common admin commands.

Upload the ulib and ulx folders into garrysmod/addons, restart the server, then run ulx adduser in the console to make yourself superadmin. ULX is the most widely used admin mod for Garry's Mod, and it needs ULib to work.
Step 1: get ULX and ULib
You can install them in either of two ways.
From GitHub (recommended for servers)
- Download the latest releases of ULib and ULX from Team Ulysses on GitHub.
- Extract each zip on your computer. Each should contain a folder with
luainside it.
From the Workshop
Add the ULib and ULX Workshop items to your server's Workshop collection. This keeps them updated automatically but gives you less control over versions.
Step 2: upload them
- Stop the server.
- In the file manager, go to
garrysmod/addons/. - Upload the folders so you end up with:
garrysmod/addons/ulib/lua/...
garrysmod/addons/ulx/lua/...
Folder names should be lowercase with no spaces. A common mistake is an extra nested folder, such as addons/ulx-master/ulx/lua. Move the inner folder up so lua sits directly inside ulx.
- Start the server. The console shows ULib and ULX loading.
Step 3: make yourself superadmin
Find your SteamID in the format STEAM_0:1:12345678. You can get it by running status in the server console while you're connected.
In the Schokr console, run:
ulx adduserid STEAM_0:1:12345678 superadmin
Or, while you're connected to the server:
ulx adduser "YourName" superadmin
Reconnect, then press the key bound to ulx menu or type ulx menu in your game console, or !menu in chat, to open the admin menu.
Common commands
ULX commands work in the console as ulx command and in chat with !command:

Groups and permissions
ULX comes with groups such as user, admin and superadmin. You can create groups and change what each one can do from the Groups tab in the XGUI menu. Users and groups are saved in the server's garrysmod/data/ulib folder, so take a backup before major changes.
Updating
If you installed from GitHub, update by replacing the folders with newer versions while the server is stopped. Your users and groups are kept because they're stored in the data folder, not the addon.
