Using your own domain for Bedrock players
Point a domain at your Schokr crossplay server for Bedrock players. Bedrock ignores SRV records, so use an A or CNAME record and share the port.

You can give Bedrock players a friendly address like play.example.com, but Bedrock Edition does not support SRV records. That means players must always type the Bedrock port, and you point the domain at your server with an A record (or a CNAME) at your DNS provider.
Java vs Bedrock DNS
| Record type | Java Edition | Bedrock Edition |
|---|---|---|
| A record (name to IP) | Works | Works |
| CNAME (name to hostname) | Works | Works |
| SRV record (hides the port) | Works | Ignored |
Java players can use an SRV record so they never type a port. Bedrock clients skip SRV lookups, so a Bedrock player must enter the port in the Port field.
Set up the record
This is done at your domain registrar or DNS provider, not in Schokr.
- Find your server's address in the Schokr console. If it is a hostname, use a CNAME; if it is an IP address, use an A record.
- At your DNS provider, create a record for the subdomain you want, for example
play:
Type: A
Name: play
Value: <server-ip>
TTL: Auto
or
Type: CNAME
Name: play
Value: <server-hostname>
- If you use Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud). Proxied records only handle web traffic and will break Minecraft connections.
- Wait for DNS to update. It is often a few minutes but can take longer.
Optional: SRV for Java players
If Java players use the same domain, you can add an SRV record so they do not need the port:
Type: SRV
Name: _minecraft._tcp.play
Priority: 0
Weight: 5
Port: <java-port>
Target: play.example.com
This has no effect on Bedrock players.
What to tell Bedrock players
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Server Address | play.example.com |
| Port | Your Geyser Bedrock port |
If you made Geyser share the Java port, the port number is the same for both editions, which keeps instructions simple. See which port do Bedrock players use.
Troubleshooting
- Works with the raw address but not the domain: the record has not propagated yet, or Cloudflare proxying is on.
- Works for Java but not Bedrock: you are relying on SRV for the port. Bedrock players must enter it.
- Console players: the domain works in BedrockConnect's address field too. See join from Xbox, PlayStation and Switch.
