How automatic daily snapshots work on Schokr

Turn on automatic daily snapshots on Schokr for 5 credits a day. Learn what happens when credits run out and how slots are used.

Automatic daily snapshots save a copy of your server every day without you having to remember. They cost 5 credits per day per server and pause if your team runs out of credits.

Cost

  • 5 credits per day for each server with automatic snapshots turned on.
  • That is about 150 credits a month, which is roughly two days of the daily reward alone (75 credits a day plus streak bonus).
  • Credits come from your team's balance. You need a linked Discord account to use credits.

Turning them on

  1. Open your server in the console.
  2. Go to the Snapshots section.
  3. Enable automatic daily snapshots.
  4. Make sure your team has credits available.

What happens when credits run out

  • Automatic daily snapshots pause. No new automatic snapshots are taken.
  • Your server keeps running. Running out of credits never stops servers.
  • Your existing snapshots stay where they are.
  • Once your team has credits again, automatic snapshots can continue.

To avoid gaps, claim the daily reward regularly or keep a small credit buffer.

How they use your slots

Each server has 3 snapshot slots for free, and you can buy more for 40 credits each, up to 30 per server. Schokr One members get unlimited snapshots. Check your Snapshots section to see how your automatic snapshots appear alongside manual ones.

Try to keep a slot free for manual snapshots before risky changes, and keep a known-good snapshot you do not overwrite.

Is it worth it?

Turn them on for servers where losing a day of progress would hurt:

  • Survival and SMP Minecraft worlds
  • Servers with player economies or progression
  • Bots that store data in local files, like SQLite databases

Skip them for servers that are easy to rebuild, like a test server or a stateless bot whose code is also on your computer or in a git repository.

Daily snapshots plus manual ones

Automatic snapshots protect against slow problems you notice later, like griefing or a corrupted file. Manual snapshots are still best right before an update. Use both. See taking and restoring a snapshot and backups vs snapshots.
